Celebs Who’ve been Robbed of their Bling
Even the rich and famous aren’t immune from our society’s angst. So what do Lindsay Lohan, Queen Latifah, Orlando Bloom, and Paris Hilton all share in common besides their fame? Each of these celebrities has had jewelry and other personal belongings stolen.

Most people don’t leave their diamond earrings and necklaces just lying around at work. But, even when they are working, celebrities need to keep an eye on their personal belongings. Lindsay Lohen was at a recent photo shoot in London when the theft occurred. It was reported to the London Police that earrings and a possible diamond necklace were stolen. Their estimated value of worth was approximately $400,000.00.
Queen Latifah was another victim of jewelry crime. While she was enjoying her vacation in the Caribbean approximately 10,000.00 in jewelry from the villa she was staying in turned up stolen. She was attending a private brunch thrown by the hotel staff at the time the break in occurred. Police on the island feel that someone who works at the hotel was responsible for the missing gold and silver rings and necklace since there didn’t appear to be any type of forced entry. Although not nearly as expensive as the jewelry stolen from Lohen, Queen Latifah did indicate that the jewelry had certain sentimental value.
While out and about the town, Paris Hilton also became a victim of jewelry theft. It was estimated that she lost about 2 million dollars in jewelry from her home in Los Angeles. It was reported that the thief entered through an unlocked door. Video surveillance did capture the thief on tape, but was not identifiable at the time. According to an interview done by Paris Hilton, she believes that the thief is someone she knows, since the thief was able to quickly enter and leave the premises knowing exactly where and which items of value to take. It is reported that she now has 24 hour security at her home.
Orlando Bloom is also another celebrity victim of jewelry theft. Although not near the 2 million dollar amount stolen from Paris Hilton’s home, Orlando did lose about $500,000 in jewelry including 2 expensive watches from his home in Hollywood Hills. He was in New York and not at home during the time of the break-in. The thief entered through a window and police also feel that the theft could be an inside job.
There is something that we can all learn from these celebrity thefts. Whether we are working, vacationing or just away from home for a few hours, using safes or lockboxes to store our valuables in could be well worth the investment.
