Purity Rings: Ridiculous Respectable?
Isn’t it nice to see women dressing up, putting some make up and accessorizing? But what do you think if they are wearing a purity ring, what would be the first thing that would pop into your mind?

These rings are usually given by the parents as a gift to their children, and is accompanied by a religious vow and a commitment to parents that the children will save themselves. The purity ring is most often worn on the ring finger and the goal is to replace it with an engagement ring someday. The rings originated in the United States of America in the 1990's and are sold to adolescents. For them, it symbolizes confidence and to keep purity and chastity for the special moment when you are married.
It is common for many to personally think that it is admirable to see someone wearing a purity thing. It means that for them, virginity is still sacred especially in this day and age. Many members of society do not take virginity seriously. There are a lot of girls out there that are getting pregnant at very young ages. Being a young mother is a very difficult job especially if you are a single mother at the same time.
One of the factors causing these situations could be the expectations that are being displayed to young people. If they are given the option of choosing a purity ring; their objective may change to keeping their promise to marry until they have reached the right age and the right time. That is the reason why it is easy to appreciate those young people who are willing to wait for that special person to come to their lives and the person whom they will give their heart and soul. Many young men, would definitely admire a girl making a promise like that to her parents and to God.

Some people would think that it is kind of ridiculous as it seems like you are announcing and informing the whole world that you are still a virgin. Somehow, it may trigger the malicious thinking of other people towards you since they are aware that you have not experienced life as they have. Somehow, you would feel embarrassed towards your parents if you are no longer wearing the purity ring and changed your mind. Even if you do not tell them, they would know that you have done made a choice that was against their wishes because you are no longer wearing the ring.
